The ultimate St Lucia Snorkeling Excursions!
Enjoy one of our leisurely Boat Tours St Lucia down the beautiful coastline to the home of the iconic Pitons, the city Soufriere. En route we will pass St Lucia’s capital Castries and make Marigot Bay our next port of call. The American novelist James A. Michener described Marigot Bay as ‘the most beautiful bay in the Caribbean,’ and as we sail into the bay you’ll see why. Marigot is said to have hidden the British Fleet (commanded by Admiral Barrington) from its French pursuers way back in 1778. Legend has it that the crafty Brits tied palm fronds to their masts to blend in with the local scenery. There is even a rumour of a German U-boat surfacing in WWII.
Further down the coastline you will find our island’s vibrant fishing villages, each with a character of their own. Take Anse La Raye and Canaries, famous for their Friday Night Seafood Fiesta, always high on the ‘to do’ list for anyone with a thirst for local culture, or even just a thirst! But the best is yet to come.
Our final port of call is St Lucia’s former capital city, Soufriere. This is the jewel in the St Lucia crown boasting everything from the World Heritage Site Pitons to the world’s only drive-in volcano and countless botanical gardens and waterfalls. Numerous hotels and restaurants offer relaxing oases from the Caribbean sun, making your experience even more memorable when paired with a st lucia sunset cruise. Places like Anse Chastanet and Ladera, nestled on the hillside between the Pitons, provide breathtaking views. You can also visit Hotel Chocolat and the Rabot Estate, where cocoa for the renowned British chocolatier is grown, or unwind at Sugar Beach, which sits proudly on the shore between the Pitons.
Sugar Beach offers a Caribbean snorkeling experience not to be missed, making it a top destination for Snorkeling St Lucia. Imagine how you will feel when the fish find you of interest. You will meet Parrot-fish, Red Snapper, Rays, Lobster and Barracuda (to name only a few) in their ‘home’ in the world’s largest aquarium. Other famous snorkel sights are Anse Chastanet and Anse Cochon, both black volcanic sand beaches which can be visited during your cruise as well.
All equipment – masks, snorkels and fins – is supplied so you can personally unlock St Lucia’s underwater treasures.

1. What marine life will we see while snorkeling?
St Lucia’s waters are teeming with colorful tropical fish, sea turtles, rays, octopuses, and other fascinating marine creatures. Vibrant coral reefs host hundreds of fish species in brilliant colors. Depending on the location and season, you might also spot moray eels, parrotfish, lionfish, and various reef sharks. Our guides point out interesting species and explain the reef ecosystem.
2. Do I need to know how to swim to snorkel?
While basic swimming ability is helpful, it’s not required. We offer snorkeling instruction for beginners and those less confident in the water. Life jackets and flotation devices are available, and our crew provides guidance and supervision. Even non-swimmers can enjoy the experience safely with proper support and equipment.
3. What should I bring for a snorkeling cruise?
Bring a swimsuit, towel, sunscreen (reef-safe), sunglasses, and a hat or cap. Avoid heavy oils, lotions, or sunscreen that can damage coral reefs. We provide snorkeling equipment (mask, snorkel, fins), though you may bring your own if preferred. Light cover-up clothing protects from sun and minor scrapes. Consider bringing an underwater camera to capture memories!
4. How many snorkeling stops are included in the cruise?
Most snorkel and sightsee cruises include 2-3 snorkeling stops at different locations, allowing you to experience various reef systems and marine environments. Each stop typically allows 30-60 minutes in the water. We also include scenic sightseeing of St Lucia’s natural landmarks, beaches, and geological features between stops.
5. What is the best time of year for snorkeling in St Lucia?
December through May offers the best conditions with calm seas, excellent visibility, and sunny weather. However, snorkeling is available year-round as St Lucia’s tropical climate provides warm water even during summer months. Visibility averages 80-120 feet depending on conditions. Contact us to discuss seasonal variations and current conditions.
