Since we are specialized in offering a private yacht charter in St Lucia we cater to your experience and your target species.
While enjoying fishing in St Lucia you can expect catches like Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Kingfish, Mahi Mahi and Barracuda.
Captain Tom and the Exodus crew are no stranger to placing in St Lucia Game Fishing Tournaments, hardly surprising with so many years of experience! Exodus Boat Charters finished first in the 2007 annual St Lucia Billfish Tournament and made 2nd place three times since. Exodus also won the ‘Best Local Boat’ title several years in the St Lucia Billfish Tournament.
In 2012 Captain Tom also took part at the IGFA Offshore World Championship in Mexico where he and “Team St Lucia” became 9th in the overall tournament. He also regularly fishes tournaments in the Caribbean such as in Grenada, Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago and Martinique; 2nd place in Martinique in October 2017 and 2nd place in Grenada in January 2018 are his latest accomplishments.
“Catch and Release ensures there is enough fish returned for future generations. It’s important that our experienced crew ensure the fish return to fight another day,” says Captain Tom. Catching a large fish is a team sport so you are never on your own. “It was on a family charter when we hooked into the 550lb Blue Marlin. The father was first to fight the fish, then the son had a go and finally it came down to me,” said Captain Tom. “You obviously need someone to steer the boat and a boat hand who is going to get to grips with these monsters, it’s a real team effort.”
A well-trained crew is a must and Exodus Boat Charters has no shortage of staff or boats. Exodus has a fleet of five craft including a 35ft Cabo Express as well as a 36ft Luhrs Open Express, both with inboard diesel engines. Both boats are state of the art and are equipped with GPS, fish finder, ergonomic fighting chair, waist belt, harness and 50’ and 80’ Shimano rods and reels. Baits include Ballyhoo coupled with an impressive variety of artificial baits and lures.

1. What fish species can I catch in St Lucia waters?
St Lucia’s waters are home to amazing game fish including Mahi-Mahi (Dorado), Wahoo, Kingfish, Barracuda and Tuna. Blue Marlin and Sailfish are also available with a peak season between September and March. Our experienced guides know the best fishing grounds and can help you target your desired species based on the season and your skill level.
2. Is deep-sea fishing suitable for beginners?
Absolutely! Our deep-sea fishing packages cater to both beginners and experienced anglers. We provide all necessary equipment, professional instruction, and expert guides who will teach you proper technique and help you land your catch. No prior fishing experience is required to enjoy a fantastic day on the water.
3. What time of day is best for fishing?
Since fish feed twice a day (morning and afternoon) it is more of a personal preference whether you choose a morning or afternoon charter. We offer various trip durations including half-day, six hour and full-day expeditions, so you can choose what works best for your schedule.
4. What happens to the fish I catch?
Billfish such as Blue Marlin and Sailfish will be released. However, fish like Mahi-Mahi, Wahoo, etc will be brought in. Any fish officially belongs to the boat, however if you would like to take some fish for dinner back to your accommodation the crew will be happy to clean and fillet it for you. Nothing beats the taste of a fresh fish dinner – especially when you caught the fish yourself! You can check with your accommodation if you are allowed to bring the fish, or we will be happy to make a restaurant recommendation where the fish can be prepared for you.
5. What should I bring on a fishing charter?
Bring sunscreen (SPF 50+), sunglasses, a hat, light clothing in quick-dry material, and a camera to capture your day on the water. We provide all fishing equipment, life jackets, refreshments (water, sodas and local beer). Gratuities for the crew are appreciated but not required.
